“Troy”Hancocks Silver Boy is a rare Brown Silver (Dapple) Quarter Horse, one of a very small handful of this breed that carry the Silver gene. There are very few Foundation ‘Silver’ AQHA stallions in the world and even fewer that, like Troy, can offer the rarest Quarter Horse colour - Black Silver. And there’s much more going on besides his colour genetics. His size (15.3hh), his good feet, strong bone, well-muscled, balanced conformation and his outstanding personality all contribute to the quality of this exceptional stallion. Troy has a gentle, friendly disposition, good manners and he’s a gentleman with the mares and safe with the foals... traits inherited by his sons and daughters. Since his first foals in 2016 Troy’s offspring have been consistently outstanding... big, well muscled and beautifully proportioned with wonderful dispositions. We raised Troy from a weanling and he was our primary herd sire from 2015 to 2022. He gave us 20 amazing foals, 14 with Silver, including 2 Black Silvers. These foals have rewarded their new owners with a diversity of talent; from trail riding, working cattle and western reining to dressage and jumping. Again and again we have heard back about their wonderful dispositions and trainability. We kept one of Troy’s sons as our current stud - Prairiesilver Quincy, and two of his daughters, to continue his legacy. Congratulations to Janel Trego-Goth and her family in Minnesota on acquiring such an outstanding stallion for their program.
